Late Shri Jyoti Prakash, who was an educationist, social worker and an eminent personality, had a dream for a premier institution in a socially backward and developing place like Palamau Commissionery. He was concerned about the social backwardness of the region and felt that education would be the best solution for the upliftment of the society. Inspired by his vision, his son Mr. Gyan Shankar and daughter-in-law Mrs. Sangeeta Shankar established JYOTI PRAKASH EDUCATIONAL TRUST in the year 2003.
HIS Daltonganj is run and managed by Jyoti Prakash Educational Trust, registered under the Indian Public Trust Act.
